À l'automne 2023, Florencia Sosa Rey est contrainte à la solitude dans le cadre d'une résidence d'artiste à Matapédia, en Gaspésie. Les paysages naturels qui s'étendent devant elle deviennent des symboles de culture, d'identité et de choix. La rivière, en particulier, qui incarne le changement et les frontières, reflète le parcours intime en tant qu'étranger (à un lieu) et invite à des contemplations plus larges sur le chez soi et la (non-)appartenance. Dans la performance Comment rester, Florencia explore le va-et-vient des distances émotionnelles et géographiques, en utilisant de la glace et des tissus pour évoquer les fluctuations de l'altérité, du soi et du confort.

In the fall of 2023, Florencia Sosa Rey was beckoned to solitude in an artist residency in Matapedia, Gaspésie. The natural landscapes that stretched out before her/them became symbols of culture, identity and choice. The river, especially, enacting change and borders, reflected the intimate journey of oneself as a foreigner (to a place) and invited larger contemplations on home and (un)belonging. In the performance Comment rester, Florencia delves into the ebb and flow of emotional and geographical distances, through the use of ice and fabrics to evoke the fluctuations of otherness, self and comfort.
